Y-3 Re-Coded

Y-3 Adidas requested a re-cut of our short documentary with legendary designer Yohji Yamamoto - 'Master Of Shadows’ to represent the brand as an installation piece at Paris Fashion week 2022. This rare and candid interview was blended with the latest Y-3 campaign films and our archive of Y-3 shows over the last 7 years, to create a fresh look back at the Y-3 Adidas collaboration. Edited and directed by Phil, in association with Broadwick Studio.

Broadwick Studio came to PHIX with one request - to make the best runway show films Y-3 Adidas had ever made.

Y-3 wanted an experienced fashion film director to bring an editorial eye and a cinematic feel to the creative direction. PHIX collaborated with both the design and production teams to create films that captured a peak era for the brand.

Our work went on to include additional aspects of the brand’s visual content, building on the surrounding narratives of the show creation including Documentary Films - Social Media Content - Product Launches - Photography - BTS Content

DELIVERY.

We created six consecutive Y-3 collections over 3 years during Paris Fashion Week. We set out to raise the bar in runway film production, using multi-camera setups and offering the first live streaming services across YouTube, Facebook & Instagram. Demanding schedules required onsite editing and finishing facilities, along with some very late nights.

MULTI-CAM / SPLIT-SCREEN INSTAGRAM LIVE COVERAGE

We created the first-ever multi-cam, Instagram live-stream that debuted the Y-3 Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection and runway show to the world in real-time. The split multi-cam coverage of the S/S 2018 show reached 75,000 unique viewers on Instagram Live and garnered 2.5M views on Instagram Stories — a 275% increase in viewers from the F/W season. Instagram posts using content from the show received over 566,000 likes, bringing in over 49M total impressions.
